Safeguarding courses
Safeguarding adults and children qualifications for frontline staff, designated leads and managers — regulated, online and tutor-supported.
Why safeguarding courses matter
Safeguarding is a legal duty for everyone who works in health and social care, and a recognised safeguarding qualification is one of the first things employers, inspectors and local authority commissioners check. The Care Act 2014, the Children Act and Working Together to Safeguard Children set out what services must do; these programmes teach you how to put that into practice.
At Level 2 and 3 you learn to recognise the signs of abuse and neglect, respond to disclosures, record and report correctly and understand your own responsibilities and limits. Level 4 and 5 programmes are written for designated safeguarding leads and managers who investigate concerns, chair meetings, work with the local authority and build a culture where staff speak up. Level 6 and 7 pathways combine safeguarding leadership with strategic management for heads of service and quality leads.
All programmes are delivered online by London School of International Business (LSIB) and awarded by an Ofqual-regulated awarding body. Assessment is by assignment, so you evidence your learning against your own setting rather than sitting an exam.

Where these courses lead
Safeguarding awards are a core component of the Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care and of the Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care Management, so credits earned here count towards those routes. Designated leads often progress to the Level 5 or Level 7 integrated programmes.
Safeguarding courses — questions answered
Do I need a safeguarding qualification or is in-house training enough?
Employers must provide safeguarding training; a regulated qualification goes further by evidencing your competence independently, which matters for lead roles, inspections and career moves.
Is there a separate course for safeguarding children?
Yes — our programmes cover safeguarding adults, safeguarding children and young people, and combined pathways. Choose the one that matches the people you work with.
How long does a safeguarding course take online?
Certificates typically take two to four months part time; diploma pathways that include safeguarding take six months or more.
Not sure which programme fits?
Tell admissions about your role and experience and we will recommend the level and pathway that matches — no obligation.
