Occupational health and safety courses
Health and safety qualifications for safety officers, managers and advisers in care, the NHS and industry — studied entirely online.
Why occupational health and safety courses matter
Health and social care is one of the highest-risk sectors for workplace injury — manual handling, infection, violence and aggression, lone working and stress all feature in HSE statistics year after year. A regulated occupational health and safety qualification is how safety officers, managers and advisers show they can control those risks and meet the Health and Safety at Work Act, CQC and HSE expectations.
Level 3 certificates introduce hazard identification, risk assessment and the legal framework for supervisors and safety representatives. Level 4 to 6 diplomas cover safety management systems, auditing, incident investigation, occupational health and the leadership skills needed to run a health and safety function. The Level 7 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management, and the integrated Level 7 health and social care pathway, are for heads of safety, directors and consultants who set policy across organisations.
Every programme is delivered online by London School of International Business (LSIB) and awarded by an Ofqual-regulated awarding body. Assessment is by written assignment; many learners base their work on a risk assessment or audit they carry out in their own workplace.

Where these courses lead
Level 3 and 4 awards lead to the Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, which is the usual qualification for safety managers. Level 6 graduates progress to the Level 7 diploma or to a Level 7 health and social care management pathway with an integrated health and safety certificate.
Occupational health and safety courses — questions answered
Is this the same as a NEBOSH qualification?
No. NEBOSH is a separate awarding body. Our programmes are Ofqual-regulated diplomas at the same RQF levels, assessed by assignment rather than exam, and recognised by employers for the same roles.
Do I need a technical background to start?
No. Level 3 and 4 programmes assume no prior safety training. Level 6 and 7 expect relevant work experience or a lower-level qualification.
Can I use the qualification outside health and social care?
Yes. The law and techniques are the same across sectors; our programmes use care and NHS examples but the award itself is sector-neutral.
Not sure which programme fits?
Tell admissions about your role and experience and we will recommend the level and pathway that matches — no obligation.
