• Cut and Polishing: Understanding the art and science of cutting and polishing gemstones, including the principles of faceting, lapping, and polishing techniques. •
• Gemstone Treatment and Enhancement: Recognizing and understanding various treatments and enhancements used in the gemstone industry, including heat treatment, irradiation, and dyeing. •
• Gemstone Grading and Certification: Understanding the principles of gemstone grading and certification, including the use of gemological laboratories and grading reports. •
• Jewelry Design and Construction: Exploring the principles of jewelry design and construction, including metalworking, setting techniques, and chain making. •
• Gemstone Marketing and Sales: Understanding the principles of gemstone marketing and sales, including the role of gemological laboratories, grading reports, and certification. •
